What Is An Ensō?

Ensō, meaning ‘circular form’ in Japanese, and is a form of art as meditation, symbolizing perfection in imperfection – especially when drawn as an incomplete circle.  Usually a person draws the ensō in one fluid, expressive stroke, and once the ensō is drawn, it isn’t changed.  It reflects the character of its creator and the context of its creation in a brief period of time – perfectly capturing that moment.
