I earned a Master’s of Science Degree in Community Counseling in 1999 and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology in 1995. Through various roles in my past, I’ve gained experience in adoption, parenting training, the child welfare system, doula work, individual therapy, group therapy, and couples therapy.

I specialize in working with adults on a variety of concerns, including relationships, grief & loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, general wellness & health, setting healthy boundaries, improving self confidence, and parenting. I’ve been providing counseling in the Black Hills since 2015, and prior to that, in Colorado. I hold counseling licenses in South Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado, and I offer a variety of treatment options, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Gottman Method-based couples therapy, and EMDR (trauma focused therapy). I am trauma informed, and provide all my clients with a strength based approach. My passion is helping couples improve communication, manage conflict, and enhance their relationships with one another.

I am married, and we have 3 amazingly unique children, of whom we are very proud. I enjoy running with our golden retriever, yoga, traveling and learning from new cultures and people, and reading. I believe self care and self growth is critically important for any balanced, healthy life. It is an honor to walk alongside you and support you in counseling as you learn to navigate the road you’re on and live your best life. I welcome you to Ensō Mental Health, and look forward to getting started on improving your mental health!
