I’m glad you’re here! In hopes of creating a healthy therapeutic experience for you, I’d like to help you to get to know me a little better.
I value a diverse set of skills and believe being authentic and vulnerable can lead to the foundation within the therapeutic relationship. My approach to therapy is with a Person-Centered and Humanistic approach, viewing the whole person, within their uniqueness, growth, and capabilities. I have worked extensively with parents/guardians, children and adolescents within my career and seek out the importance of the child to parent relationship. Play Therapy is a passion of mine, and employs a set of skills I value while working with children and families. I also focus within Perinatal and Postpartum Mental Health, recognizing the high importance for support within this season of life.
I earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling in 2017 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with focuses in Early Childhood Education and Disability Studies in 2014, both from the University of Wyoming.
I have worked in community mental health and school settings throughout my degree and career, which includes work with severe emotional and behavioral issues, parenting and family counseling, and play therapy.
I enjoy being outdoors, camping and I really do love always learning and growing within this field. I am a strong advocate for self-care and value time set aside for that.
I am honored to join you on this healing journey and look forward to walking with you. While therapy can be difficult and sometimes tiring, it is also a valuable opportunity for growth and healing. I look forward to connecting with you!
Jessica works with clients from ages 3 years old and up, teens, and adults in individual therapy.
