Haley Stein

M.S.
Outpatient Therapist

I bring a direct, warm, and interactive approach to my work with clients. My background includes a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South Dakota State University, earned in December 2024, following the completion of my internship at Ensō Mental Health. Prior to my counseling career, I gained valuable experience working in child welfare for three years and supporting individuals with disabilities for five years.

I have experience working with individuals facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and life transitions. I specialize in working with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), utilizing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help clients break the cycle of intrusive thoughts and rituals. I have a particular interest in supporting college students and young adults navigating the unique pressures of this life stage, as well as those managing suicidality, grief, and work-life balance.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in several evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and ERP, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and a trauma-informed perspective. I also incorporate principles from the Gottman Method in my work with couples. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their inner world and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their patterns. My aim is to empower individuals to identify their strengths and build resilience to navigate life’s complexities.

Outside of my work, I enjoy traveling, reading, spending quality time with my husband and our dog. I’m originally from eastern South Dakota and have enjoyed living in the Black Hills for the past four years. I believe that while life presents challenges, with the right support and guidance, individuals can cultivate meaningful change and growth in their lives.
