Brady Umberger

Social Work Intern / Client Care Coordinator

Hi, I’m Brady—a Social Work Intern and one of Ensō Mental Health’s dedicated Client Care Coordinators. Whether I’m providing support in session or welcoming you to our office, my goal is to make your experience as smooth, welcoming, and supportive as possible. I grew up in Spearfish and am excited to return to the community as I continue my education and begin building my career. I graduated from South Dakota State University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, and I’m currently a second-year Master of Social Work student at the University of South Dakota. My passion is creating safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental spaces where you can be your full self. I believe healing begins when we feel truly seen and heard, and I strive to provide each person who comes to Ensō with curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for the stories they bring in.

As an intern, I work with teens, young adults, adults, and couples. I have experience supporting individuals navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship challenges, and stress. My approach is collaborative and flexible, grounded in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Informed Therapy, and the Gottman Method. I also value integrating mindfulness, movement, and somatic awareness into sessions to help cultivate a deeper connection between the mind and body.

I’m especially drawn to working with you if you’re exploring your identity, your relationships, and wanting to build skills in emotional regulation. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply seeking greater clarity and connection, I aim to offer a space where we can work through challenges together and build tools for resilience and self-understanding. I view therapy as an individualized process—one that honors your strengths while gently exploring areas of growth. I’m continually inspired by the stories people share in session and I’d feel honored to walk alongside you in your journey.

Outside the office, I find joy in being outdoors, practicing yoga, reading, writing, and engaging in creative activities that help me stay grounded. Movement is a big part of my own stress management, and I love weaving it into daily life—whether it’s hiking, going to the gym, or simply taking a walk.

If you ever need anything here at Ensō Mental Health, I’m here for you and I look forward to meeting you!
